Pro Wrestling Will Brock Lesnar Retain His WWE Universal Title At Summerslam? By Charles McCalister Posted on July 26, 2017 3 min read 0 0 118 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr Brock Lesnar will have to face one of the great fights of his WWE career if he wants to step out of the ring as the WWE Universal Champion this coming SummerSlam. That’s because he will have the huge undertaking of facing not one, not two but three challengers as announced by the RAW General Manager, Kurt Angle. The challengers listed for this epic brawl are Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe, after they each gave they point of view as to why they were to face the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. A huge change from earlier reports as Golberg was slated to be in the ring with Lesnar for a continuation of their rivalry. Odds Are Brock Lesnar Retains The Title WWE will risk too much if they allow the belt to be taken from Lesnar. Brock doesn’t bring in the crowd because he is the champion, he brings in the crowd because he is Brock Lesnar. Having Lesnar walk out the ring without that belt around his waist won’t hurt his feeling much, but it will take him from the limelight and storylines and thus not as much onscreen appearances. WWE depends on the week in week out talent both on and off TV as there is nothing spectacular to advertise when it comes to wrestling. Whether WWE wants Lesnar to retain his title or not, he must always be seen as a champion, for the rating sake, he must go into the ring as a star and step out the ring as one. In this Fatal 4 – Way battle, Lesnar won’t even need to be pinned to lose his title belt, he would have protection but he could also be ganged up on and ultimately breakdown from the onslaught. This type of match would allow any of the challengers to win without ‘defeating’ Lesnar and then set up a rematch for WrestleMania 34 next year.
