New Strategy Utilized In The Game

The combination strike duo was an experiment on the part of Mourinho who only tested this option in Houston, Texas. The pair looked to be in great shape and the score line has proved his idea could be very effective. The 2 strikers now have a tally of 5 goals between them since arriving in the United States. Mourinho is quoted as saying “It is good to see them play together which is perfectly possible,” He also talked about trying out 3 different systems and also developing the team. He also stated that he played with a 10 in the match against Manchester City.

After the game Rashford reportedly told Sky Sports News “There’s a possibility you could see that up front, but there’s still a lot of things we need to work through in training.”

Manchester City Introduces Two New Players

Kyle walker made his debut for Manchester City, along with Brazilian goal keeper Ederson. It turned out to be a rocky start for Ederson’s goal keeping career with Manchester City as he conceded 2 goals. The two new players played the entire game.

Ederson made a blunder by coming out of his box which caused the opening goal against his team. Ederson went on to make several saves but eventually allowed the second goal to pass him.

He played midfield and looked well poised. It appears that he was not overwhelmed by the magnitude of the match and showed natural talent with the ball. He received praises from his manager Guardiola.

“I don’t have words – I would like to have the right words to describe what I saw,” said Guardiola during a post match conference. Speaking about young Foden he said “You are the lucky guys who saw the first game, for the first team for Manchester City, of this guy.”

Guardiola also said that “He will stay with us, training with us in the pre-season and maybe he’ll stay with us in the season because he’s special.”
