UFC Should Amanda Nunes Feel Disrespected by Dana White? By Charles McCalister Posted on July 29, 2017 3 min read 0 0 98 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr Dana White has a history of attacking fighters via the media over and over again, and Amanda Nunes is no exception. When Nunes withdrew from her headliner against Valentina Shevchenko, who was defeated by Nunes just last year, White took to the media and criticized Nunes for the failure to fight saying it was more mental than physical. White went on to say that “I asked the doctors what was wrong with her. She was medically cleared. She was physically OK. They found nothing wrong with her. But she didn’t feel right. ”White clarified that Nunes didn’t specifically refuse to fight, but instead said, “I don’t feel right. I don’t feel good.” Dana White Not Happy With Amanda Nunes Decision Not To Fight Similar situations have occurred in the past, and will occur again, but White said he doesn’t think it has ever been like what happened with Nunes as she was physically capable of fighting. He told the media during an interview that he won’t main event the bantamweight title again, but he didn’t go as far as to strip her of the title as she has no history of withdrawing at the last minute. However, he didn’t pay her any part of her UFC 213 purse and gestured he won’t take another risk on her as a headliner. White was quoted as saying, “it is what it is. You can’t make anyone fight.” Nunes was battling chronic sinusitis and the heat in Las Vegas did not help the situation. She made a public statement which read, “Sorry to all my true fans, the fight will be rescheduled and I will be back at 100 percent.” Conan Silveira claims that even fighters are stating that Nunes was scared, he vehemently stated that Nunes retired Meisha Tate, she also retired Rhonda Rousey, why would she be scared now. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you have to respect Nunes decision, she is the champ.
